NowoDry S-40 is based on monosilanes (single molecules) that only react when inside the wall they come into contact with moisture. During the chemical reaction - the hydrolysis - a chemical connection is created with the substrate's OH groups. SiO bonds are formed, which are characterized by the fact that they are very strong and cannot be washed out.
NowoDry S-40 is a thin-flowing and colorless liquid consisting of more than 40% active substance and with ethanol as propellant.
Application
NowoDry S-40 needs to be sprayed on, but is nevertheless very simple to apply, as covering is unnecessary. Only with certain types of windows or in very special weather conditions may it be necessary to wipe before or after the impregnation. This is because the solvent (ethanol) evaporates without causing damage to the substrate.
One of the many advantages of NowoDry S-40 is that the impregnation can be carried out all year round. As long as the masonry is absorbent, the optimal impregnation can be achieved. It does not matter that the wall contains some moisture, as NowoDry S-40 is fully open for diffusion. Furthermore, it is not necessary to cover glass as Nowodry S-40 is based on monosilanes which do not attack glass such as An impregnation based on Silan/Siloxsan.
NowoDry S-40 can be applied directly to surfaces that are younger than 1 year. If they are older, they must be cleaned thoroughly by flushing with water and mechanical or manual cleaning with a stiff brush or with a high-pressure cleaner. Surfaces with discolouration and the growth of algae and moss are treated before and after cleaning with Neutralon and finally rinsed thoroughly with clean water. The same applies to heavily soiled surfaces. When the surface is visible and noticeably dry, after approx. 1 day, depending on weather, wind and temperature, it is ready for treatment. NowoDry S-40 is applied to the new or cleaned and dry surface in reasonable quantities with a wide brush, or best a low-pressure sprayer (max 10 bar) or similar. Apply approx. 1 liter of NowoDry S-40 per 3-5 m2, depending on the age, nature and absorbency of the surface. One application is enough for normal surfaces, but if you want to apply an extra time, this must be done within max. 1 hour after the first application (so wet on wet), as otherwise the surface has already formed a barrier which prevents the additional application.
